Women’s Writing Retreat
As part of the eFutures Women’s Pilot project, eFutures convened a cohort of researchers for a dedicated Writing Retreat aimed at increasing the representation of women within the EPSRC funding portfolio in the UK, while also contributing to shared objectives at a European level through the European Chips Diversity Alliance.

Hosted in Newcastle, Co. Down, in a setting where the mountains meet the sea, the retreat created space for focused collaboration. Over the course of the workshop, conversations developed into concrete plans, ideas were shaped into proposals, and new connections formed around ambitious collaborative research projects.

The retreat demonstrated the value of providing time and space for open exchange, creativity, and peer support. It supported both professional development and community building, helping to strengthen networks and generate momentum for the future of microelectronics research in Europe.
