ICT and the Circular Economy

Part of eFuture's 2021-22 series on "Electronic Systems for Sustainable Societies", this webinar & networking session will explore Circular Economy in relation to Information & Communications Technologies (ICT).

We will look at how ICT might be part of the problem (2% of global carbon emissions come from the manufacture and use of ICT) but also, importantly, play a huge part in sustainable solutions.

Chaired by Professor Geoff Merrett, University of Southampton

Keynote from Pascal Leroy, Director General of the WEEE Forum.

The WEEE Forum is a platform for forty electronic waste producer responsibility organisations across the globe to exchange best practices and know-how. It is at the forefront of turning the extended producer responsibility principle into an effective electronic waste management policy approach.

Their mission is to be the world's foremost e-waste competence centre excelling in the implementation of the circularity principle.
